Robert Saylor, a 26-year-old man with Down syndrome, sat in a movie theatre after having watched a movie, acting as if he was going to sit through the movie again without buying another ticket.
That prompted three police officers to kill him.
Friday, a grand jury determined that no crime was committed, even though his death was ruled a homicide.
Well, Spoony’s dating again. I feel bad for the girl and the inevitable nuclear fallout, rape threats and death threats to be heaved her way following their breakup and her baseless vilifying at Noah’s hands.
Like he did when Scarlett broke up with him.
Because Noah’s a punk bitch.

But I’m not being sarcastic, I do legitimately feel terrible for that poor woman. I hope she escapes that relationship without being on the receiving end of the same shit Scarlett was.

With the way that Lupa’s being harassed by Spoony’s fans and how much Scarlett gets slutshaming from them as well, I can only imagine what would happen to this person if she decides to break up with Spoony. If you honestly think that it’s perfectly alright to send rape and murder threats to Allison Pregler than FUCK. YOU. She didn’t get Spoony “fired”, he choose to leave TGWTG, he even fucking said himself that Allison is not to blame for this. So why must you still harass this woman? Is it because she called his ass out? FUCK YOU ONCE AGAIN. He made a rape joke to a personal friend of hers and kept on being an asshole to all his fans and close friends. Meanwhile, Allison continually gets harassment from his shitty fans just because she spoke up to him and that they honestly believe she’s the reason that he’s no longer a part of Channel Awesome. Police murder man @ movie theater for disobeying orders
February 17, 2013On January 14, 2013, a young man with Down syndrome went with his companion to see Zero Dark Thirty at the Regal Cinema in Frederick, MD. At the end of the movie, apparently because he wanted to see it again, he refused to get out of his seat. A Regal employee, rather than allowing him to stay and dealing with the situation later with his parents and the companion, called not one, not two, but three off duty Frederick County police officers who were working security for the theater at the time.
According to published reports, when the officers/ security guards asked him to leave, he mouthed off at them and “resisted arrest”. Those of you who know my son Landon can visualize what this would look like. In response, the officers wrestled him to the ground where he asphyxiated in handcuffs. The handcuffs were removed and EMS called and according to the police news release he later died at hospital. I don’t know how that reconciles with the coroner’s finding of asphyxiation which I thought was pretty immediate.
The price of a ticket at the cinema is between $9 and $11. The additional cost to Regal of allowing him to watch the movie again was ZERO. But instead a beloved young man died on the floor of a movie theater in his neighborhood at the hands of people he was taught would protect him.
The police officers remain on duty and were allowed to invoke their rights as police officers not to provide statements even though they were not on duty or performing official duties at the time. They were security guards in police uniforms.
The county police are investigating and the story has received local news coverage. Please share this everywhere both to ensure justice but also to raise public awareness.

“Now is not the time to talk about gun control.”
Yeah, now is not the time to talk about gun control.
The time to talk about gun control was after Columbine. And then again after Virginia Tech. And then again after Fort Hood. And then again after the Giffords shooting. And then again after Aurora.
When 18 elementary school students have been shot and killed, it’s too late.
Another few weeks where neurotypical people pretend to give a shit about the mentally ill.
Another excuse for people to blame mental illness for society’s ills.
Anticipating the inevitable shit storm on mental illness, I’d like to remind everyone of a few things:
- Most violent crimes are not committed by the mentally ill.
- People with mental illness are far more likely to be victims of violence than perpetrators of the same.
- Most people with mental illness are not violent.
The problem we should be discussing is gun availability as it pertains to EVERYONE, not just the mentally ill. We should not be using unspeakable violence as a rationale for “locking up the crazies”. No. We should use this as an opportunity to have a real discussion about gun control. We should examine our broken mental health systems, and the stigma they have fueled.
And we should mourn for the 27 people that died needlessly today.

It’s a pretty messy and complex situation, in that there are factors dating back to Israel’s founding 64 years ago that continue to contribute to every aspect of the situation.
But I’ll do my best for a brief “What’s happening now”.
The Gaza Strip is a tiny 4 by 23 mile strip of land along the Mediterranean that is home to 1.6 million Palestinians, 80% of whom are refugees who were forced into that corner when they were kicked out of their homes during Israel’s founding in 1948.
In 2006, the US and Israel basically forced an election on the Palestinian people to decide what group would run the country, and the top two contenders were Fatah, which has a long-running history of aiding the Palestinian cause but have recently become nothing more than Western-Backed and funded cronies, and Hamas, which was basically a more radical group that was created as a response to Israeli aggressions and the lack of an armed, unified group to resist it.
The US and Israel were banking on Fatah winning, but instead, Hamas won, because it was basically an election of “The old and corrupt” against “The “not” old and corrupt”, and the Palestinian people wanted a change from the stalemate we had been stuck in with Fatah.
Because Israel and the US weren’t happy with the results, they funded and armed Fatah to “fight out” Hamas, who were democratically elected through an process that they pushed in the first place, which resulted in civil war, and Hamas being pushed into the Gaza Strip, where they currently rule, while Fatah retains control of the West Bank.
After the brief civil war, Israel imposed a siege on the Gaza strip, allowing no-one in or out, no medical/building supplies, food, clothing, or anything else without Israeli approval, which was never granted.
Fast-Forward, to 2012, the Gaza Strip is in shambled, people are dying of malnutrition, facing medical crises’ because they have no supplies, and are basically forced to merely “exist”, rather than to live as normal human beings. The siege is so severe, that Israel has literally set a calorie limit in which it dictated the amount of food that was allowed in that would keep people from just barely starving to death, with multiple reports stating that within 6 years, the Gaza Strip will be an unlivable region unless something drastic is done to save the area.
Last month, Israel “accidentally” killed a 13 year-old boy as he was playing soccer with his friends after a bullet struck his abdomen. Shortly after, they opened fire on a 23 year-old mentally disabled man who wondered too close to the “buffer zone” surrounding Gaza, and refused to allow anyone to treat his wounds, from which he could have been saved. He died shortly after.
In retaliation, the PFLP [another armed group within Palestine] launched a rocket attack on Israeli patrol forces near the border of Gaza, wounding 4.
That attack is what Israel considers the “start” of the current conflict, while ignoring the previous two killings.
Israel responded by assassinating one of the top leader of Hamas and the Gaza Strip, who had at the time been drafting peace-plans towards Israel, despite having a history of terror attacks.
Hamas then responded by launching many rockets into Israel, while Israel continued to launch relentless, punishing air-strikes on the Gaza Strip. Due to the fact that the strip is so small and so crowded, and due to Israeli use of massive missiles in their strikes, no where is safe within the strip, and no one is allowed to even leave. There are no places to seek shelter, no places to hide, and nothing to do but stay in place and pray that you’re not the next piece of “collateral damage”
In the last 4 days, 73 Palestinians have been killed, with early reports claiming 21 children, 9 women [two of whom were pregnant] and 6 elderly among them, with an estimated 700 injured [with injuries ranging from mutilations resulting in physical disabilities, broken bones, or other less extreme tragedies], of which 150 are children.
In the same time frame, 3 Israeli civilians have been killed from the same blast on Thursday.
While Israelis have an active missile defense system called “Iron Dome”, which shoots down rockets, along with sirens to warn of incoming rockets and when to seek bomb shelters to protect themselves from the home-made rockets of Hamas, those in Gaza are subject to shelling by land, air and sea.
There have been talks that the conflict could escalate and that Israel may send troops within the Gaza Strip, which is a source of great fear, considering the last ground invasion Israel launched resulted in the deaths of 1400 Palestinians, between 750 and 930 of which were civilians, while Israeli forces lost 10 combatants [4 to friendly fire] and 3 civilians.
I know this is a exhausting wall of text so I’m sorry about that, but I tried to cover all the bases of the conflict so that I can have this here for future reference.

sometimes people ask me, “is rape worse than murder?” and my response is always: yes.
people tend to think that a rapist doesn’t take your life away, but they do. they took away my ability to trust, reason or think clearly without wondering what a person’s intent is. rapists took away a life filled with hope and wonder and instead replaced it with a life filled with regret and uncontrollable anxiety. am i supposed to feel “lucky” that they left me alive? because what kind of life is it where i have to second guess the people around me?
rape is worse than murder because rape survivors live to tell the tale of the morning, day or night their life was taken away from them. we survived what sociologists warned us about. we don’t give a shit about your statistics or why murder really is a hell of a lot worse.
because if we were dead we wouldn’t have to live through rape culture. if we were dead we wouldn’t have to relive every time someone says something that blames us. if we were dead we wouldn’t have to survive through more sexual assaults and abusive relationships than we needed.
this isn’t meant to be morbid or to make you angry. it’s made to make you face the fucking reality we have to face every day. to survive is to contemplate death, because we are on the edge of it every day. we face it head on every time we get immersed in rape culture.
if you can’t see this or understand it you’re not worth the air we breathe.
If I was dead then you motherfuckers would be in jail and no one - fucking no one - would dare tell me that it was my fucking fault.
Murder leaves a bunch of sad people who are unified around the loss of a person. Sure there is pain and terror in the moment, but that ends and everything else is for those who are left behind.
Rape leaves a person who struggles to find even a few others who will understand them. There is pain that lasts forever, and on top of that, you can’t even be guaranteed a supportive and loving community to go back to.
When I was sexually abused I would have preferred death over anything else.
